Elizabeth Kinsey

Elizabeth, better known as Libby, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism prior to attending law school at the University of Florida. While in law school she interned with the Office of the Public Defender in Gainesville, Florida.

First licensed in Florida in 2007, she spent her first few years as a prosecutor in Orlando, where she managed a heavy caseload, including plea bargaining, motion practice and trials of felonies and misdemeanors. In 2011, she relocated to Texas and after three years in civil practice, returned to criminal law as a defense attorney. Libby has been the primary attorney on more than 40 criminal jury trials and countless non-jury trials. She’s currently responsible for a full docket of criminal cases, and zealously represents clients in both state and federal cases. She feels that her experience as a prosecutor helps her understand how the assistant district attorneys evaluate their cases in preparation for trial, making her an effective negotiator and a strong trial attorney. Libby also speaks Spanish.
